A new event is offering Broadway fans the chance to live out their Rockette dreams by joining the cast of Broadway's The Producers in the "World Record-Breaking Longest Kick Line."
The event will take place on Tuesday, March 7th; participants will "kick" to a well known New York anthem. The rain-or-shine event will begin at 10-10:30 AM with participants checking in at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (1605 Broadway between 48th and 49th Streets). The record-breaking itself will take place in Times Square, with the finish time set for 12:30 PM.
Participants must be 18 or over, but no dance experience is necessary. A simple, 2-minute routine will be taught to all participants, who must be able to stand for up to 60-90 minutes. A sense of rhythm and a great attitude is also suggested.
Participants will receive a t-shirt, that they will wear while "kicking" (over a jacket depending on weather).
Upon arrival, participants will check-in and be assigned to a Kick Captain and in groups of 20 be taught the routine. Each group will then be escorted to the kick line in Times Square.
In addition to the t-shirt, each participant will receive an authentic certificate of participation commemorating their involvement in the world record-breaking event!!
The event will be held to raise awareness of Deep-Vein Thrombosis (
