John Hill, who has been seen on Broadway in
Hairspray and
The Boy from Oz, will bring his new evening of "songs and ramblings" to the Duplex Cabaret Theatre for four nights only--May 15th, 22nd, 29th, and June 5th, 2006.
In "Skinny Corpse," "Hill will explore and skewer the current New York scene including tirades and odes to such current topics as MySpace and
Michael Musto. Audience can expect to hear such unexpected songs as Enigma's 'Return To Innocence' and Yaz' 'Only You,'" according to press notes. The evening will feature musical direction by Brian Nash in a program directed by
Ben Rimalower (
Joy). Jason Courson is the show's producer.
Hill, who also appeared Off-Broadway in
Bare, recently scored a hit with his one-man show "Whiskers on Kittens." He has performed at
The Encore, Joe's Pub, Makor, The Laugh
Factory, the Lucille Lortel Theatre with Jackie Hoffman and
Caroline's. He has collaborated with Katherine Leonard and
Lucian Piane on the internet music/comedy
experiment, "JohnnyAndKooks." Hill also "randomly wrote and is now co-producing a television
show for MTV but still finds time to be annoyed by musical theatre."
