Popular big screen, small screen and stage performer extraordinaire John Goodman touches upon his memorable recent Broadway foray in Samuel Beckett's celebrated comedy WAITING FOR GODOT on Broadway in 2009 opposite Nathan Lane as part of a new interview with Vanity Fair.

Asked if anything within him personally responded to the plight of his character in the play in portraying Pozzo, Goodman amusingly retorts emphatically, "No!" before letting out a laugh.

Then, Goodman adds, "Well, yes! Nothing and everything."

"Oh, sure there is," he says.

Yet, Goodman qualifies it further by continuing, "But I have to keep moving and soldier on. To do otherwise causes misery to myself and others, and it's just wallowing in despair."

Goodman concludes, "I've done it, and I'd rather not."

Why, the stalwart star appears quite like a sturdy soul straight out of Beckett when sounding like that - been there, done that!
