Almost, Maine, a romantic comedy by Fiddler on the Roof's John Cariani, will open on January 12th at the Daryl Roth Theatre (101 E. 15th St.) after beginning previews December 15th.

Todd Cerveris (Twentieth Century), Justin Hagan (Tartuffe), Miriam Shor (Hedwig and The Angry Inch) and Finnerty Steeves appear in the show, which is directed by Gabriel Barre (Summer of '42, The Wild Party).

Almost, Maine, which debuted at the Portland Stage company in 2004, follows the "residents of a small, northern town [who] are falling in and out of love at an alarming rate. Love is discovered; hearts are broken and mended —almost — in this midwinter night's dream!," state press notes.

Cariani received a Tony nomination as well as an Outer Critics Circle Award for playing the role of Motel the tailor in the current Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof. He was recently seen at the Public Theater in Two Gentlemen of Verona, and has also appeared on screen and on television in The Reunion, Robot Stories, Kissing Jessica Stein, Scotland, PA and "Law and Order," on which he plays the recurring role of Julian Beck. As a playwright, he has also written Cul de Sac (which will soon be produced) and contributed to the musical The Audience.

James Youmans (sets), Jeff Croiter (lighting), Brian Ronan (sound) and Pamela Scofield (costumes) comprise the play's creative team, while Julian Fleisher has contributed an original score.

The performance schedule is: Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM, Sundays at 7 PM with matinees on Saturdays at 4 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, which range from $26-$66, are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
