Gotham Stage Company's third installment of their new play series will be co-presented for the first time by Slant Theatre Project. Launched in 2011, the SPRINGBoard reading series exists to nurture new plays and to provide opportunities to both early and mid-career theatre artists. Past featured playwrights have included Carrie Barrett, Randall David Cook, and Ethan Lipton.
John Behlmann, Marylouise Burke, Kelli Giddish, Deirdre Madigan, and Michael Raymond are set for Emily Bohannon's THE FIANCE to be directed by Adam Knight. The performance will take place Wednesday May 29th at 7pm at The Players Club, located at 16 Gramercy Park South.
The Fiancé centers on Bea and her decision to reenter the dating pool. Little did she know there's so many options out there for an 85- year old woman. When Bea gets engaged to a man in her retirement community, it's cause for celebration - and tensions - with her daughter and granddaughter, who have their own fears about marriage, love, and being alone.
