Joey Arias to Appear at Abrons Art Center, 10/1-10/9

The Henry Street Settlement has announced that Joey Arias will appear in 'Joey Arias in Concert' at their Abrons Art Center.  The concerts will take place on October 1, 2, 8, and 9 at 8pm.  Ben Allison will be the musical director.

The Settlement's description of the concert reads, "The incomparable Joey Arias returns to the Abrons for his first New York City concert appearance in nearly a decade! Arias teams up with Ben Allison, one of the brightest stars in contemporary jazz, and a band of skilled musicians for an extraordinary evening of music and Arias' off-the-cuff humor and musical improvisation.

A fixture of New York City's downtown performance scene for 30 years, Arias recently spent six years as the host of Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity and was the co-creator and star of the breakaway hit Arias with a Twist."
