Joe's Pub at The Public presents Largo, a night of song from the legendary concept album, tonight, October 30 at 7:00PM. Largo was produced and written in 1998 by Rick Chertoff and Rob Hyman, with co-writing by David Forman and Eric Bazilian. This show is the first step in re-envisioning the iconic work for the theater. Tickets are $25 and available online, by phone (212-967-7555) and at The Public's box office (425 Lafayette, NYC) now.

The night will feature the vocal performances of Margot Bingham, Little Isidore, Mutlu, Jeffrey Gaines, Veronica Forman and Willie Nile. The live band features Hyman and Bazilian with William Wittman, Tommy Williams and Phil Cimino.

Largo is an ambitious work of American music - part blues, part rock, part Celtic, and part classical. Loosely inspired by the works of composer Antonin Dvo?ák, his trip to New York, and his symphony From the New World, the concept album was a brilliant example of storytelling and songwriting, unreeling tales told through the voices of diverse group of Americans. Chertoff, Hyman, Forman and Bazilian collaborated on Largo, calling on an astounding lineup of artists including Taj Mahal, Levon Helm, Carole King, The Chieftains, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Osborne and more.

Rick Chertoff is a five-time Grammy nominee, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year and producer of the year. He produced Cyndi Lauper's multi-Grammy-nominated debut album, She's So Unusual, which included the hits, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," "Time After Time," "All Through the Night" and "She-Bop," which was co-written by Chertoff. He also produced Joan Osborne's multi-Grammy-nominated debut album, Relish, which included the hit, "One of Us" and Sophie B. Hawkins album,Tongues and Tails, with the hit, "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover." Film credits include the theme song for Jerry Zucker's Rat Race and "Christmas of Love" for the Ron Howard's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Chertoff has produced songs for The Band, The Chieftains, Billy Joel, Mick Jagger, Taj Mahal and more.

Rob Hyman is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and keyboardist, who co-founded the rock band The Hooters with collaborator Eric Bazilian in Philadelphia. The band opened the U.S. Live Aid concert (1985), and performed at the Amnesty International Concert at Giants Stadium (1986), the Sony Anniversary celebration at Tokyo Dome (1987), the Concert for World Hunger at Carnegie Hall (1989) and Roger Waters's The Wall in Berlin (1990), which led to worldwide acclaim. Hyman has also worked closely with Chertoff on Cyndi Lauper She's So Unusual and Joan Osborne Relish, as well as studio sessions with The Band, Mick Jagger, The Chieftains, Taj Mahal, Carole King and Dar Williams. Hyman co-produced Largo in 1998, and built Elm Street Studios near Philadelphia in 2001.

David Forman is a lyricist, composer and singer whose work spans various popular idioms. Forman has been writing and performing since the late 1960s for film, stage, recording artists and television. His alter-ego, Little Isidore, a highly regarded rhythm and blues author and performer, tours with his 10 piece classic rock and roll ensemble, the Inquisitors. The LARGO recordings present an opportunity to create songs inspired by the timeless Dvorák melody that came to be known as the spiritual GOIN' HOME.

Eric Bazilian is a Grammy-nominated songwriter, for Joan Osborne's "One of Us." With Rob Hyman, he co-founded The Hooters in 1980 and rode the wave of 80s rock stardom while contributing his multi-instrumental and arranging skills to iconic recordings like Cyndi Lauper's She's So Unusal and Joan Osborne's Relish. Bazilian also worked on many albums by artists like Ricky Martin, Robbie Williams, Amanda Marshall, Billie Meyers, Jonatha Brook, and The Scorpions among others. Bazilian has released two solo albums as well as a collaboration with Sweden's Mats Wester. He is currently working in his home studio and performing live as much as possible.
