Joe Gulla's "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Part 2" will have its World Premiere as part of the Village Playwrights' "Queer Scare 4" this Wednesday, October 25th, at the LGBT Community Center.

These staged readings of short plays were curated to celebrate Halloween.... with a gay twist! Written by Gulla and directed by Brian Rardin, "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Part 2" stars Laura Daniel Koch, Erin Alexis Evers, Alejandro Valeriano de la Sen and the playwright himself.

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Part 2" picks up thirty years after Linus's debacle in his infamous, yet sincere, pumpkin patch. Linus, currently the CEO of Van Pelt Securities, receives a mysterious phone call from the Great Pumpkin himself and this event triggers a heap of post traumatic stress. Thankfully, Linus has a therapist on retainer that can help him work through this and all of his other Halloween-related issues.

Gulla says of his play, "I was inspired by the success of 'A Doll's House, Part 2'! Ha! I thought it would be fun to experience Linus as an adult in the real world. Does his unique embodiment of "blind faith" help or hurt him in modern day society? Also, in the course of Linus' therapy session, the audience gets to learn about the current status of his pals... the rest of the Peanuts Gang!"

Earlier this year, Joe Gulla won the 2017 Downtown Urban Arts Festival "Audience Award" for the performance of his play "Garbo" at the legendary Cherry Lane Theatre. Next up for Gulla is the 2018 NYC Premiere of "GAY.PORN.MAFIA", a collection of his award-winning and nationally produced short plays.

"Queer Scare 4" will be performed at NYC's LGBT Community Center, 208 W. 13th St. Seating is limited and reservations are strongly recommended. Email villageplaywrights@gmail.com or call 614-285-2515. There is a $5 suggested donation.
