WAITRESS: THE MUSICAL is all coming together!
The mainstage musical adaptation of the adorable indie comedy WAITRESS by pop superstar Sara Bareilles is preparing for its premiere production in August at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the production shared a look inside rehearsals kicking off this week as part of a new social media post.
The official Facebook page posted a photo featuring Bareilles alongside director Diane Paulus, bookwriter Jessie Nelson and star Jessie Mueller earlier today, noting, "#WaitressART ninjas: Jessie Mueller, Jessie Nelson, Sara Bareilles, Diane Paulus"

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus, began rehearsals today for the world premiere musical Waitress. Based on the motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly the new musical has a book by Jessie Nelson, music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, direction by Diane Paulus, and choreography by Chase Brock.
The complete cast includes Jessie Mueller as Jenna, Jeanna de Waal as Dawn, Drew Gehling as Dr. Pomatter, Dakin Matthews as Joe, Keala Settle as Becky, Eric Anderson as Cal, Jeremy Morse as Ogie, and Joe Tippett as Earl. Ensemble members are Charity Angel Dawson, David Jennings, Corey Match, Ragan Pharris, Cullen R. Titmas, and Stephanie Torns. Set design is by Scott Pask, costumes by Suttirat Larlarb, lighting by Ken Posner, and sound by Jonathan Deans. Casting by Telsey & Company.
