As previously reported, on October 25th, James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's never-before-staged Evening Primrose will take a one-night-only bow to benefit the St. George's Society of New York 's Anglo-American Cultural Awards at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College. In addition to Candice Bergen, John McMartin, Sean Palmer, Bill Duell, and John Windsor Cunningham, Jessica Grove is also joining the production. Grove is currently starring in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC on Broadway.

The musical presentation is under the direction of Tony, Academy and Emmy-Award winner Tony Walton, orchestrations: Sean Patrick Flahaven, music direction: Mary-Mitchell Campbell, sound design: Bernard Fox, lighting design: Richard Pilbrow, produced by Margot Astrachan and will conclude with a grant to the Young Playwrights Inc., the charity founded by Sondheim.

The show is part of a premiere gala celebration of the Anglo-American Cultural Awards of the St. George's Society, recognizing the contributions to US-UK society of Walton and Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief Glenda Bailey. It will be attended by Alec Baldwin, Tommy Tune, Alan Cumming, Jim Dale, and other theater and fashion-world luminaries.

St. George's Society Executive Director John Shannon said, "We are thrilled that we have the opportunity to bring another life to this show. With the talented performers and artisans who are giving of themselves to help us celebrate, we couldn't ask for more!"

Following the presentation of Evening Primrose, there will be a gala dinner in the top of Hearst Tower featuring the talents of Alan Cumming and Jim Dale. Walton and Bailey will present grants from the St. George's Society to Tony-Award winner Christine Jones and writer Alfie Barrett - chosen by Walton and Bailey as up-and-coming talents in their fields.
