Jersey Boys, the new Broadway musical about The Four Seasons, is partnering with VH1 Save The Music to help restore music education in public schools across the country. Dodger Theatricals will donate 200 tickets to VH1 Save The Music.
Tickets sales for the October 18th performance at 8 PM will include exclusive VIP seats to the show, full access to the cast after-party and an event gift bag. The after-party will be held at Hotel QT 125 West 45th St.Jersey Boys began previews on October 4th, and will open at
the Virginia Theatre (soon to be renamed the August Wilson Theatre) on
November 6th.
Directed by Des McAnuff (The Who's Tommy, Big River),Jersey Boys
was a smash hit at the La Jolla Playhouse in LA last year (where as the
most successful show in the history of the theatre, it extended three
times). The show
"chronicles the lives of a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong
side
of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music
sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own
sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide – all before they were
thirty. Jersey Boysfeatures their hit songs 'Sherry,' 'Big Girls Don't
Cry,' 'Rag Doll,' 'Oh What a Night' and 'Can't Take My Eyes Off of You,' among
others," according to production notes.
The
show features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, as
well as songs with music by Gaudio and lyrics by Bob Crewe. Dodger
Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella will produce
the musical on Broadway, and Klara Zieglerova (sets), Jess Goldstein
(costumes),
Howell Binkley (lighting), Michael Clark (projections) will comprise
the design team.
