Jennylind Parris to Pay Tribute to Carol Burnett at Metropolitan Room, 11/2

Jennylind Parris will make her New York City solo debut in A Woman of Character: A Tribute To The Incomparable Carol Burnett on Saturday November 2nd at 4:00p at the Metropolitan Room. She is directed by multi-award winning director Gretchen Reinhagen and musically directed by multi-award winning musical director Tracy Stark.

"A Woman of Character" will take audiences on a tour of Carol Burnett's illustrious career from "Once Upon A Mattress", and "Annie", to eleven years worth of musical numbers crossing all genres on the Carol Burnett Show and variety specials, television and movies; even from her nightclub acts. The best thing about Carol is that she is truly a woman of character and at the heart of this show is a desire to share that part of Ms. Burnett with you.

Jennylind Parris is a versatile singer, and comedic actress having performed across the country in a multitude of musicals. She starred in the award winning Off-Off Broadway production of "Where's Charley?." Having performed in group shows at Don't Tell Mama's and The Duplex; Jennylind is now making her solo debut. In addition to Musical Theatre; she also has a great gifting for Country, Pop/R&B, and Contemporary Christian music. Critics have not only referred to her as "hilarious" and "farcically funny"; but also a "gifted singer and actress with grace, ease, and style". Audiences are sure to be embraced by her heart and humor.

2013 MAC Award winner for best director, Gretchen Reinhagen will be directing. She is quickly becoming one of New York City's most sought after directors. Of her directing last year the Times Square Chronicles said "under her direction performer's blossom" and "every moment of the show from the lighting to the stage movement was brilliant". She is also the Cabaret Triple Crown Winner for her tribute show to Kaye Ballard.

6-time MAC award winner Tracy Stark is musically directing as well as playing the show. She has musically directed such legends as Leslie Gore, Marnie Nixon, Karen Black and RAndy Jones. Songwriter's Monthly declared "she is one of our countries finest musicians" and the NY Post said she is a "superb and virtuosic pianist."
