The Huffington Post is reporting that Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson will make her first public appearance since the tragic killings of her mother, brother and nephew during the upcoming Super Bowl.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed Wednesday that Hudson will sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla., on Feb. 1. E! News first reported Tuesday that Hudson would perform at the mega sports event.
Hudson is also scheduled to sing at the Grammy charity concert to honor Neil Diamond, the 2009 MusiCares® Person of the Year on February 6th.
Jennifer's exposure during the third season of TV's American Idol in 2004 introduced her to a nation duly impressed with her potent soulfulness.
After Idol, Jennifer auditioned for the part of Effie in Dreamgirls, beat out thousands of contenders for the coveted role and went on to win an Oscar.
