Gregg Ostrin's new play KILLING STRAWHEAD will have its New York debut reading at NOLA Studios' Studio One on Wednesday, July 30 at 4:00 PM.
The reading, directed by Rachel Klein, will feature Morgan James as Marilyn Monroe, Jenna Leigh Green as Jackie Kennedy, Jeremy Kushnier as President Kennedy and Ari Benjamin Hirsch as Bobby Kennedy.
Ostrin's new play explores the multi-faceted and ever-competitive dynamics of the Kennedy family in the last days of the life of America's most famous sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe.
Rounding out the cast is Guy LeMonnier as Peter Lawford and Danielle Faitelson as Shirley, a "Presidential Conquest".
This reading of KILLING STRAWHEAD is produced as part of the 2014 AGT SUMMER READING SERIES. Grant describes the series as "a new play incubator where artists can hear their work out loud and discover what works and what doesn't work."
The series, cast entirely by Daryl Eisenberg Casting, is meant to foster new works by matching directors and casts with new plays at different stages of the development process.
Ben Andron's BROKEN SNOW, directed by Joe Langworth, tells the story of two strangers brought together by a shared mystery from their past that make them question the very essence of their identities.
In Jon Farber's SISTER HUSBANDS, directed by Colin Hanlon, a gay-polygamous family is put to the test when its patriarch dies unexpectedly. How strong are the bonds of the surviving husbands towards their beliefs and convictions when an unexpected guest joins in their grieving?
All readings in the series are open to the public.
RSVP by e-mailing SummerReadings@theatrical.ag.
Due to limited capacity, there will be no admittance without written confirmation.
