Ars Nova presents Jenn Colella: The Girl Behind the Bull. Join award-winning actress Jenn Colella for a night of songs from her most beloved roles in musicals such as Urban Cowboy the Musical (Jason Robert Brown), The Great American Trailer Park (David Nehls), Heartland (Kim Sherman) and the greatly anticipated High Fidelity (Tom Kitt and Amanda Green). The Tony Award-winning Lonny Price (Urban Cowboy, Master Harold…) will direct, with musical direction by Tom Kitt (Debbie Does Dallas, An Evening with Mario Cantone). Sunday, November 7th at 8 PM at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street, just west of 10th Ave.).

Jenn Colella (Performer) played "Sissy" in Urban Cowboy the Musical on Broadway, for which she received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Musical. Colella was recently seen in the NYMF in the smash hit The Great American Trailer Park Musical as "Pippi," the kleptomaniac stripper. Some of her favorite regional credits include: Heartland (dir. Susan Schulman); the title characters in both Peter Pan and Sylvia; Angels in America (The Angel), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Puck). Other credits include: "Can You Tell?" (Co-host with Tony Rock); stand up comedienne at the Laugh Factory and at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

Tom Kitt's (Musical Director) Broadway musical direction and conducting credits include: Urban Cowboy, Bombay Dreams, An Evening With Mario Cantone, Nothing Like a Dame, Caroline's on Broadway's 20th Anniversary, Lincoln Center Songbook. Off-Broadway: Debbie Does Dallas, Dream a Little Dream, Showstopper, For the Love of Tiffany, It's Only Life: The Songs of John Bucchino, Making Tracks, Dog Sees God. Kitt is also the leader of the Tom Kitt Band (www.tomkittband.com), whose debut album Find Me includes songs that have been featured on "Dawson's Creek" and the feature film "The Two Ninas." In 2004, Kitt received a grant from the Jonathan Larson Foundation for his original musical, Feeling Electric, and he is currently composing the score for the musical High Fidelity with Amanda Green and David Lindsay-Abaire.
