Then Saturday is the big celebration. The evening features two standard ComedySportz matches featuring 40 past and present ComedySportz players. ComedySportz is Philadelphia's longest running comedy show. The line-up will include some of the group's all-stars from the past and present. Joining ComedySportz for this one evening will be Jen Childs, the Artistic Director of 1812 Productions and noted local actor Scott Greer. Both Childs and Greer are former members of ComedySportz Philadelphia. Also coming to town is former ComedySportz member Tom Fowler, who now lives in Los Angeles and just had a stint onJimmy Kimmel Live! as his correspondent for NBA Finals version of "Lie Witness News."
For the past 20 years ComedySportz has been entertaining fans with the fastest and funniest form of improv comedy ever seen. Two teams of improvisers vie for points in a hilarious competition by playing a series of improv games, similar to TV's Whose Line Is It Anyway? A referee governs the action, calling fouls and keeping the match moving at a blistering pace. The audience is always a part of the interactive show, and audience volunteers sometimes even wind up on stage. Because everything is improvised, it's never the same show twice. The shows are clean and appropriate for all ages.
