Jeffry Denman who starred in the original Broadway production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas and most recently co-starred and choreographed the Off Broadway hit YANK! at the York Theatre will direct and choreograph ALL SINGIN' ALL DANCIN' at Town Hall on Monday July 26, 2010 at 8pm.
ALL SINGIN' ALL DANCIN' is an exhilarating extravaganza of song and dance designed to bring audiences to their feet, cheering. Inspired by the legendary Broadway dance of The Astaires, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, Gower Champion, Bob Fosse, and Jerome Robbins, this is a concert event like no other. The show will consist of original choreography created exclusively for this concert and will be set to some of the greatest show music ever written including "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" and "Cell Block Tango."
The cast includes:Ron Raines (CBS' - Guiding Light, CHICAGO, SHOWBOAT)Jeffry received a 2010 Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Outstanding Choreographer for YANK! In addition, he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for his performance as Artie in YANK! Jeffry was nominated for a 2009 Astaire Award for his portrayal of Phil Davis in the original Broadway Company of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. He has also received a Best Actor IRNE award for White Christmas in Boston, a Backstage Bistro Award for his solo show, Jazz Turns at Birdland and received an LA Ovation Nomination for his portrayal of Junior Dolan in LA Reprise's production of On Your Toes.
On Broadway, Jeffry appeared as Munkustrap in the final cast of Cats and was featured in the original company of The Producers and played Leo Bloom opposite Nathan Lane as Matthew Broderick's understudy. He penned his first book, A Year with The Producers, which told the story of his time with Cats and The Producers.
Other NY credits: Face the Music and Of Thee I Sing at Encores! Children of A Lesser God (Keen Company) and the Broadway productions of How To Succeed and Dream. He regularly appears at the Town Hall directing and choreographing as well as performing in the Broadway By The Year concert series. He has appeared with symphonies across the country, most notably with the National Symphony in a Tribute to Irving Berlin and the Philadelphia Symphony in a Tribute to George Gershwin both conducted by Marvin Hamlisch. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in Standard Time with Michael Feinstein.
