Broadway song and dance man Jeffry Denman has been cast as the romantic lead in the Encores! staged concert version of Irving Berlin and Moss Hart's Face the Music.

From March 29 - April 1 at New York City Center, Encores! will present the first full-scale restoration of Berlin and Hart's Face the Music, a 1932 musical about a desperate producer in New York trying to raise the money for his latest revue, Rhinestones of '32. The show, one of Berlin's (Annie Get Your Gun, Call Me Madam) personal favorites, contains a pair of depression-era classics – "Let's Have Another Cup of Coffee" and "Soft Lights and Sweet Music."

Denman most recently played 'Phil Davis' in Irving Berlin's White Christmas, opposite Stephen Bogardus and Kerry O'Malley at the Ordway in St. Paul.  He originated the 'Danny Kaye' role opposite Brian D'Arcy James at SF's Curran Theatre in 2004 and reprised it at LA's Pantages Theatre in 2005.  He also appeared in the Encores! production of Of Thee I Sing at City Center.  His Broadway credits include The Producers, Cats, How to Succeed..., and Dream. Off-Broadway and regionally he has appeared in Children of a Lesser God, Pvt. Wars, If Love Were All, Lady Be Good, and Singin' in the Rain.  He also choreographed the long-running off-Broadway hit Naked Boys Singing.  He has also made numerous concert appearances.

On February 5th, he will appear in "The Music of Kurt Weill: Kurt and Lenya In Their Own Words," with Isabella Rossellini and others at The New York Historical Society.  On Monday, February 26, he will join Hunter Bell, Anita Gillette, Mary Testa and others in "My First Time," an all-star Broadway concert to benefit Quality Services for the Autistic Community (QSAC) at New World Stages at 7 p.m.  And on February 19th, he will debut his cabaret act "Jazz Turns," featuring guest appearances by Brian D'Arcy James, Nancy Anderson and Dennis Stowe, at Birdland.

Face the Music will be presented as part of Encores! season celebrating the American revue.  Follies, by Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman, will be presented from February 8th through 12th, while Stairway to Paradise, starring the recently announced Kristin Chenoweth and Roger Bart, features 50 years-worth of material from such revues as the Ziegfeld Follies.  The latter show will run from May 10th through 14th.

More casting for Face the Music will be announced.
