Award-winning Broadway and cabaret star Jason Graae will debut his new show "Graae's Anatomy" at Birdland (315 West 44th Street) on Monday, January 15 at 7 PM.  He will be joined by Musical director Alex Rybeck and some surprise guests.

Graae won the 2006 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and the 2006 New York Nightlife Award for his solo show "Coup de Graae."  He also won the Bistro Award for 'Best Major Engagement' and was named one of Time Out New York's 10 Best Cabaret Shows Of 2004.

According to press materials, "'Graae's Anatomy' is a show where Jason sings from the heart, breathes through his nose, touches a nerve, and tickles the funny bone. It includes Jason's somewhat twisted and sometimes even humorous take on songs by Bucchino, Sondheim, Mercer and more.  Come see the man who the New York Times said is 'in the twilight of his potential as a Broadway juvenille lead!'

Best-known to theatre audiences for his Broadway appearances in A Grand Night for Singing, Falsettos, Stardust, Snoopy and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, and as one of the original Plaids in Forever Plaid, Graae received a Drama Desk nomination for Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh.  He has been seen on HBO's "Six Feet Under," and Showtime's "Rude Awakening" with Lynn Redgrave, among others. He made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in Everlast and sang with the Washington National Opera, Los Angeles Opera and the Boston Pops; and can be seen in several PBS specials.  In LA, he played Houdini in Ragtime and won the Ovation Award for Forbideen Broadway Y2KLA!.  In addition to being heard on over 35 original cast albums and studio CDs, he has recorded two solo CDs: "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" and "Jason Graae: Live at the Cinegrill."  He also recently played Frosch in the San Francisco Opera production of Die Fledermaus.

Immediately prior to his January 15th appearance at Birdland, Graae and Tony Award-nominee Liz Callaway will appear in concert on Dec 28-31 at 7:30 pm at the Samueli Theatre in the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Costa Mesa, CA  (www.ocpac.org).  The two performers made their off-Broadway debuts together in Godspell at Equity Library Theatre, and have remained close friends ever since.
