WHAT: Join former Lifetime Achievement recipient Tyne Daly as Jason Alexander will host the 2004 annual Tony Awards Party as the Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement is presented to James Earl Jones, by Henry Winkler on behalf of Hollywood's theatrical community at the eighth annual Tony Awards Party to benefit AID FOR AIDS and THE ACTORS' FUND OF AMERICA.

The Actors' Fund of America and Aid For AIDS are proud to announce that on June 6, at the highly anticipated 8th annual Tony Awards Party 2004, the Julie Harris Award for lifetime achievement will be presented to Oscar nominee, Golden Globe, Emmy and two time Tony Award winner–James Earl Jones.

James Earl Jones has starred in numerous stage productions and many films over a 40-year career, beginning with the Stanley Kubrick classic: Dr. Strangelove: How I Learned to Stop Worrying, and Love the Bomb. Probably best known for his role as the menacing voice of anti-hero Darth Vader in the Star Wars trilogies. Maxim Magazine listed him among the "Fifty Greatest Movie Villains of all Time." Has appeared on the Simpsons a couple of times and played Mufasa in "The Lion King." His is also the commanding voice that says, "This is CNN." Including receiving the Tony Awards for "The Great White Hope" in 1959 and for "Fences" in 1987, he received the John F. Kennedy Center Honor in December 2002.

The evening, hosted by Tony Winner Jason Alexander, will feature an open bar, dinner, a silent auction featuring Broadway memorabilia, Collectibles and Travel packages, and the only live feed of the TONY AWARDS® broadcast from New York. Previous recipients have included Julie Harris, Gwen Verdon, Charles Durning, Tyne Daly, Rita Moreno, Lauren Bacall and Carol Channing.

For over 20 years, Aid For AIDS (AFA) has provided direct financial assistance to persons living with HIV/AIDS that are disabled and living below the poverty line. Providing funds for the basic necessities of life such as housing, utilities, food, health insurance premiums, transportation, medication, and nutritional supplements. As one of the oldest AIDS agencies in Southern California, AFA is a premiere service provider of direct financial assistance to persons living with HIV/AIDS in Los AngelesCounty. To date, AFA has assisted over 11,000 men, women and children with monetary support exceeding $14 million. We presently have a caseload of over 3,000 active clients.
