Broadway and Hollywood mainstay Jason Alexander stars in one of a series of new public service announcements crafted by hotshot director Brett Ratner for GLAAD's "Come Out For Equality" campaign.

"I know what it's like to be in the closet! I know what it's like to be bullied and attacked because someone or some group thought I was different or below them... so, I'm coming out of the closet as an ally of equality for everyone; as an ally to hope," says Alexander in the clip.

"Isn't it time you came out and told the world what you believe?" he concludes in this call to action.

Alexander joins Jackie Chan, Kristen Johnston, Giada De Laurentiis, Jaime King, TAMALA JONES and many more celebrities who star in individual 30-second spots promoting the worthwhile cause, with reportedly even more being added in coming weeks and months.

Ratner previously incurred a storm of controversy over his virulently homophobic comments in 2011, which ultimately resulted in him pulling out of producing an Eddie Murphy-hosted telecast of the Academy Awards. These PSAs are assumed to be part of an ongoing apology and part of Ratner's rehabilitation process being enacted as a result of those slurs.

According to the official website,"Comcast and NBCUniversal will serve as a leading media partner for the PSA campaign, contributing $1.5 million in national airtime on its Xfinity TV cable systems and bringing this important message to more than 20 million homes over the next year."
