Jaslene Gonzalez Featured in Suma Chandler's New Lookbook

Suma Chander introduces their Spring/Summer 2013 collection with the release of a lookbook featuring America's Next Top Model winner Jaslene Gonzalez.

This Spring 2013 season is an exercise in contrasting Western Art Deco and Art Noveau lines extracted from and inspired by Eastern architecture and landscapes. More so with this collection, Chander incorporates a heavy use of intricate embroideries of sharp, deliberate geometric patterns juxtaposed against organic, free-flowing lines and esses. The result is a very opulent interpretation using cut beads, iridescent paillettes, metallic threadwork and crystals that cleverly highlight the curves and movement of a woman's body.

To offset this unusually high dose of embellishment, Chander also infuses the collection with a the sophisticated, minimalist touch she is known for. As always, the designer combines many natural fibers and mixed textures into a balance of draped, flowing and structured silhouettes. The color palette feels light and fresh and consistent with her past Spring Collections, comprised mostly of soft shades of nude and ivory that are offset by pops of metallics, peaches, and bright blues.
