"From the opening track's impact, she is a knock out - a rare treat and an absolute sensation, who grabs the whole of each tune, extracts its essence and negotiates it into a moving story of human interfaces. She instantly communicates via her seductive individualized sound and articulation of lyric. Born to sing as a "musicians' singer", she invites her listeners into her passion of flaming fire to toasty warmth and from purrs and whispers to shouts and wails. Jane has been singing for a long time (since age five). Her track record as an excellent tap dancer and thespian includes her singing different styles early on. Her development reveals a persistent profile of growth in her singing, reflecting her joy and focus on teaching and learning increments."-Dr. Herb Wong
Song selections for Don't Look Back include rarely heard gems, Cole Porter's Experiment, Johnny Mandel's title cut, a soulful I'll Follow The Sun and a gorgeous ballad Let It Come To You, an original by Jane. Most of the arranging is a collaboration of Jane with Rave Tesar. The terrific cast of players includes guest soloist Dick Oatts on alto and flute (also arranger on Experiment), Dave Stryker on guitar plus stellar support from the rhythm section, some of her favorite players that graced her last recording: pianist and co-producer Rave Tesar, bassists Sue Williams and Kermit Driscoll, tenor saxophonist Frank Elmo and drummer/husband Rick De Kovessey, in addition to percussionist Emedin Rivera.
