Jamie Pierce to Host THEATRICAL HYSTERICS Night of Stand-Up at Feinstein's/54 Below

Feinstein's/54 Below, comedian Jamie Pierce hosts Theatrical Hysterics, an evening of stand-up comedy at Feinstein's/54 Below on March 9th at 9:45pm, featuring very special guests Jim David, Rick Crom and Kevin Meaney.

This unique evening will bring together three of Broadway's favorite headlining comics...all with a flair for the dramatic. Join in for a night of hilarity as Jamie welcomes Jim David (Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public, "South Pathetic," MAC Award Winner: Outstanding Comedian), Rick Crom (Urinetown, NEWSical, FX's "Louie") and Kevin Meaney (Hairspray, "Saturday Night Live," "The Tonight Show"). Allow these first-class comedic legends to metaphorically touch you inappropriately by tickling your funny bone all night long!

"This evening of comedy will truly be one-of-a-kind," said host Jamie Pierce. "All three of these gentlemen are headliners, all three are comedy legends and most importantly, considering the venue, all three have Broadway credits!"

Another unique feature of the evening is the all-gay line up. Explained Jamie, "I wanted to showcase gay male comedians because I believe it's an underrepresented demographic on the mainstream comedy landscape." Emmy Award winner Kevin Meaney has been one of the country's most popular standup comedians for more than 25 years. His first HBO special in 1986 catapulted him to the forefront of the comedy scene. In 1987, Kevin made his debut appearance on, "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson and was invited by Johnny to join the guest panel. Since his first appearance Kevin has returned to the show a dozen times. He was a special guest on "Saturday Night Live" and has appeared on Letterman, Regis, Oprah and Conan. Kevin is also an accomplished actor, having starred in the CBS sitcom, "Uncle Buck" which ran for a full season. In addition, he has done numerous guest appearances on both sitcoms and dramas. He also had a featured role in the movie 'Big". In 2006, Kevin expanded his acting repertoire to appear in the Broadway production of Hairspray as The Male Authority Figure. Kevin is also a successful writer and producer. He wrote and produced and starred in a one-man autobiographical play titled, "Wedding Vows in Vegas," which premiered at the prestigious U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado before going on to a successful summer run in Boston at the Hasty Pudding Theatre. Jim David has appeared on many television comedy shows, most notably Comedy Central Presents Jim David where he became the first openly gay man to have his own special on the network, and a two-year stint on Comedy Central's Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. David also appeared on many television shows as a comedian or commentator, among them Gotham Comedy Live, Comedy Central's Out On the Edge, Comic Cabana, USO Comedy Tour, Comic Remix and Friars' Club Roast of Rob Reiner, Bravo's Queer Eye For The Straight Guy and Greatest Things About Being..., ABC's The View, A&E's Caroline's Comedy Hour and An Evening at the Improv, Current TV's "Viewpoint" and HLN's The Joy Behar Show. Jim David has also been a contributing writer to The Advocate, New York Blade, and US Weekly. He is three-time winner of the MAC (Manhattan Assn. of Clubs & Cabarets) Award for Outstanding Comedian and the Backstage Magazine BISTRO Award for Outstanding NY Comedian. He has appeared on Broadway (Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public), Off-Broadway, in films, and his one-man comedy "South Pathetic," a play about the worst community theater in the South, was presented at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, NYC'S Revelation Theater, and in August 2009 at San Francisco's New Conservatory Theatre. Rick Crom is an award-winning American actor, singer, comedian, lyricist, and composer. He has appeared in numerous television shows and specials, Broadway and off-Broadway musicals, as well as written several off-Broadway revues, and has 3 times been nominated for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics. In 1993, Crom made his Broadway acting debut in The Goodbye Girl. He was an understudy in Footloose and appeared in Urinetown: The Musical as Tiny Tom/Dr. Billeaux. His off-Broadway acting credits include the 1994 revival of Merrily We Roll Along and the Encores! productions of Fiorello! and Li'l Abner. As a comedian, Crom has appeared with the Chicago City Limits, and performed stand-up across the country, most frequently at New York City's Comedy Cellar. On television, he has been seen on "Chappelle's Show," "Caroline's Comedy Hour," and "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn." He recently appeared on the FX sitcom "Louie" starring fellow comic Louis CK. In 2004, Crom wrote the book, music, and lyrics for NEWSical, and received his first Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Lyrics, with NEWSical picking up a nomination for Outstanding Review. A new edition (renamed NEWSICAL the Musical: We Distort, You Decide, and featuring an entirely original book and music) began previews at the 47th Street Theater on November 24, 2009, and opened December 9 of that year. Once again, Crom was nominated for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics, and the show was nominated for the Outstanding Musical Revue award. The latest edition of NEWSical the Musical: Full Spin Ahead began previews December 13 of that year and opened on January 9, 2011 at The Kirk at Theatre Row, where it is enjoying an open-ended run. It won the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical and also picked up 2 more Drama Desk nominations for Best Lyrics and Best Revue. A recording of his songs for the Crystal Palace, "Who Writes This Stuff? The Songs of Rick Crom," was released in 2008. In 2009, Crom composed the score and co-wrote lyrics with Fred M. Caruso for the film The Big Gay Musical. He also composed the score and wrote the lyrics for Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale, with a book by his Urinetown co-star Hunter Foster. Comedian Jamie Pierce (Host) has performed all over New York, Los Angeles and around the country.
