Deadline reports that Tony Award-winner James Corden is set to lead the cast of Working Title's upcoming film SCHOOL FOR SANTAS. The project will reunite the 'One Man, Two Guvnors' star with playwright Richard Bean, who will pen the script. A director on the film has not yet been chosen.
According to the report, the film will center on "a down-on-his-luck dad who needs to find his inner Father Christmas to win back his kids." Production is scheduled to begin next year on location in New York and London.
Corden is currently filming CAN A SONG SAVE YOUR LIFE, directed by John Carney and co-starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld and Adam Levine. The actor won the 2012 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role of a Play for One Man, Two Guvnors. His other theatre work includes One Man, Two Guvnors at The National Theatre and The History Boys (National Theatre, Broadway and international tour).
TV credits includes The Brit Awards, A League of Their Own, and Gavin and Stacey (co-creator and co-writer) (BAFTA Award for Television Programme of the Year, British Comedy Award for Best New Scripted Comedy.
