James Avery, a family-owned jewelry retailer, announced plans to build a 53,600 square foot production facility on 30 acres just across from the Kerrville Municipal Airport on Highway 27 in Kerrville, Texas. The new facility is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2016. The company currently plans to move 180 employees from their main Kerrville campus to the new location. When fully occupied, the new building will accommodate over 500 employees, potentially increasing production to three times that of the current Kerrville facility. The company's plans to create some 360 new positions in the Kerrville area over time have been well received and made possible, in part, by the strong support of the City, County and local Economic Development Corporation.

James Avery Jewelry offers a comprehensive collection of designs for women and men that are unique to the marketplace and crafted in sterling silver, gold, and gemstones. The jeweler is widely recognized for its inspiring traditional collections, contemporary new designs, and its extensive offering of keepsake charms.

George Lee, Senior Vice President of Supply and Strategic Planning at James Avery, comments on the new facility, "Kerrville is a prime location for our new production facility for four main reasons. First, the new Craftsman Center will consolidate people and operations currently dispersed throughout six buildings on our main campus. Although we have a great team of craftspeople in Kerrville, the current layout makes it very difficult to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow. Second, while the Kerrville community offers an available workforce, our existing facilities are unable to accommodate the needed increase in workers. In addition, our Kerrville facility has a large experienced workforce that will be critical in training new employees in the art of jewelry craftsmanship. Finally, the relocation in Kerrville will also allow us to repurpose existing buildings to support the strong growth we are experiencing throughout the company."

Nationwide, the company operates a total of 70 stores across the South and Midwest. Customers may learn more about James Avery and find their nearest store location by visiting www.jamesavery.com/storelocations.
