Headliner Jake Gulledge tours nationally as a part of comedy legend Henry Cho's Funny But Clean Comedy Tour. He will be joined by the inspirational Derrick Tennant. When a life-threatening injury cost him the use of his left side and a promising career as an athlete, Derrick persevered to become a gifted comic. These fellas are so funny you will hardly notice that they work clean. New this season, Aurora is introducing a way for frequent laughers to enjoy live comedy in Gwinnett - ComedyTix is a punchcard with 6 flexible admissions that may be used at any Aurora Comedy Nights event for only $69.60, a savings of over $45.
Shortly after his debut at a small theater in Gaffney, South Carolina, he was invited to tour with nationally known comedian Henry Cho as the feature act on his Funny But Clean Comedy Tour-of which he is still currently a part. His comedy is focused around true to life observations when it comes to dating early on in his life and the musical soundtrack that went with it. His vocal impersonations are spot on-from Steve Perry and Journey to Elton John and many more. He uses his keyboard skills and vocal impressions to truly "wow" an audience. People leave singing the songs he brought back to their minds. Because of the national tour, Jake has performed at some of the country's most popular Comedy Clubs and has appeared on TV and radio all across the country, as well. His clean and clever set of comedy is so universally hilarious; he performs the same show from corporate events to colleges and clubs. He was a standout hit on the Rock Legends Cruise II, in which he performed with great bands like 38 Special, Foreigner, Kansas, CCR, Paul Rodgers and many others.
Derrick made the most of a tragedy in his life by creating an opportunity for a career. As a promising athlete Derrick suffered an injury that left him in a coma. After brain surgery, years of rehab and life in a wheelchair; he ultimately got on his feet again. Despite the very limited use of his left side, Derrick loves life and "looks on the RIGHT side" of things. He worked hard to overcome physical challenges and now works just as hard to help others overcome trials through his comedy. Derrick has performed in Comedy Clubs across the world working with the likes of Ron White, Kevin Pollak, John Lovitz, Kathleen Madigan and Jon Reep. The material remains clean and the laughter is strong.
Hostess Katie Causey is a member of multiple improv and sketch comedy groups in Athens and in Atlanta. She is a recent UGA grad and an alumnus of the very first Aurora Theatre Apprentice Company.
