Jackie Hoffman Hosts Treatment Action Group Benefit Dec.9

Jackie Hoffman, who is currently starring on Broadway in the hit musical Xanadu, will host a benefit for The Treatment Action Group (TAG), one of the leading worldwide organizations in AIDS research advocacy. Its 11th annual "Research in Action Awards" will honor individuals who have made a significant impact in AIDS research and activism.

The 2007 Research In Action Awards event will take place at The Drawing Center (located at 35 Wooster Street, between Grand & Broome Sts.) on Sunday, December 9, from 6-8PM. Downtown denizen Jackie Hoffman, who is currently starring on Broadway in the hit musical Xanadu will host.

This year's honorees include Christine Quinn, City Council Speaker, David Mixner, author, political strategist, civil rights activist and public affairs advisor and Dr. Jim Yong Kim, head of Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard School of Public Health who formerly served as HIV Director at WHO.

TAG will also offer a limited edition print by artist Carrie Yamaoka, twenty of which will be available through event ticket sponsorship.

Founded in 1992, The Treatment Action Group (TAG) fights to find a cure for AIDS and to ensure that all people living with HIV receive the necessary treatment, care, and information they need to save their lives. After more than 20 years of the global pandemic, TAG remains the only organization in the world dedicated to AIDS research and treatment advocacy.
