The Green Room at New World Stages presents the fifth season of So You Think You Can Drag. This week's competition features Broadway favorites Jackie Burns and Daniel Torres!

Hosted by "Showbiz Spitfire" Paige Turner, a co-producer of the competition, So You Think You Can Drag features ten pre-cast queens competing for a $1,000 grand prize and the chance to headline their own show at The Green Room at New World Stages. The annual nine-week competition, which began this year on Thursday, September 11th, has spawned several of NYC's newest drag superstars. Past winners have included Crystal Demure (J. Harrison Ghee), whose breakout drag persona landed him a role in the national tour of Kinky Boots. A panel of celebrity judges, rotating weekly, has included Adam Lambert, Jackie Hoffman, Charles Busch, Julie Halston, Charl Brown, and many more from the Broadway community.

On Thursday, September 25th, the queens will compete in a Musical Theater challenge judged by some of Broadway's best. Jackie Burns (Wicked, Hair), currently the standby for Idina Menzel in If/Then, joins the judges panel along with Daniel Torres (Evita, Woman in White, The Pirate Queen), currently in the cast of Beautiful The Carol King Musical. They join resident judge Justin Luke of BoiParty on the panel.

So You Think You Can Drag is every Thursday at 11:00 pm at New World Stages. The final week of the 2014 competition is Thursday, November 13th. Tickets are available at the door for $10 and it includes a cocktail! You must be 21 or over to enter. Doors open at 10:30pm for an 11:00 pm competition. New World Stages is located at 340 West 50th Street between 8th and 9th Ave.
