Jack Plotnick, of Gods and Monsters, Nip/Tuck, and The Mentalist, has set his sights on Broadway, according to Queerty. His musical, Disaster!, might be making headlines on the Great White Way in the not too distant future!
Disaster! is the musical version of a 1970's disaster film, and the characters are in for a bumpy ride. The show takes place on the opening night of a floating casino/disco on New York's Hudson River, and everything that could possibly go wrong does.
"Every disaster from the films of that era hits these poor people on the boat," Potnick told Queerty. "Tidal wave, earthquake, inferno, killer bees, rats, sharks..."
The show feature music from almost every genre an audience could wish for, with 30 hit songs straight form the 1970's.
Plotnick wrote Disaster! alongside longtime friend and comedy partner Seth Rudetsky; he also directed the show off-Broadway.
"It got the kind of reviews you dream about, which helped us attach a couple of incredible Broadway producers," Plotnick said.
