Singer and songwriter Jack Phillips will be presenting his new show, Café Nights In New York, at The Triad on W. 72nd Street on November 18th.
Accompanied by an all-star trio consisting of music director Conal Fowkes on piano, Debbie Kennedy on bass and Klaus Suonsaari on drums, the singer will celebrate his love for Manhattan. Original songs will be mixed with standards by the likes of Rodgers & Hart, Cahn & VanHeusen, Burton Lane, Jerome Kern and others in an exploration of the city's special excitement, its fashion, its style and, of course, its music.
Phillips' mother and two grandmothers played piano, so it was natural for him to start playing from an early age in his hometown of Fresno, California. He released his first EP at 19 years old. From Fresno, he moved to San Francisco, then to London and finally settled in New York City, which he had loved from afar since childhood. He has performed at The Metropolitan Room, The Duplex and Don't Tell Mama and in 2012 he released his well-received album, also called Café Nights In New York. The show will also celebrate the release of his fourth studio recording Down in the Jungle Room.
The Triad is located upstairs at 158 W 72nd St. Reservations can be made at (212) 362-2590. Tickets are $24.00 with a $25.00 menu minimum. The show date is Saturday, November 18th at 7:00 PM (doors open at 6:15 PM). Tickets: http://tinyurl.com/JackPhillips.
