Carnegie Hall announced today that it will stage a one-night-only concert performance of Frank Loesser's beloved Broadway musical Guys and Dolls on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage.
Three-time Tony Award-winning director Jack O'Brien (Hairspray,The Nance, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) directs the concert production with Rob Fisher (The Sound of Music at Carnegie Hall and founding music director of Encores! and Anything Goes and Chicago) as music director, conducting the Orchestra of St. Luke's and choreographer Joshua Bergasse (NBC's Smash). Additional creative personal include video and projections designer Wendall K. Harrington, lighting designer Alan Adelman, and sound designer Nevin Steinberg with casting by Telsey + Company. Cast and remaining creative personnel will be announced at a later date. The musical is presented with full orchestra, cast, and ensemble, and is a gala benefit, providing support for the artistic and music education programs of Carnegie Hall.Tickets, priced $40-$120, will be available starting August 19 for subscribers and donors andAugust 26 for the general public at the Carnegie Hall Box Office, 154 West 57th Street, as well as through calling CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800 or by visiting the Carnegie Hall website, carnegiehall.org. For Carnegie Hall presentations taking place in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, a limited number of seats, priced at $10, will be available day-of-concert beginning at 11:00 a.m. Mondaythrough Saturday and 12:00 noon on Sunday until one hour before the performance or until supply lasts. The exceptions are Carnegie Hall Family Concerts and gala events. These $10 tickets are available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis at the Carnegie Hall Box Office only. There is a two-ticket limit per customer. In addition, for all Carnegie Hall presentations in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage a limited number of partial view (seats with obstructed or limited sight lines or restricted leg room) will be sold for 50% of the full price.
