Jack Eldon has been named VP Touring at Disney Theatricals.

Well-respected among road presenters for his years of successful marketing of Disney Theatrical's touring productions of The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida, Eldon now expands his role to include planning, routing and negotiating deals with presenters to his scope. He has worked with Disney Theatricals for 10 years, and six years prior to that as a marketing professional in the industry.

Disney Theatricals is currently represented on the road with two companies of The Lion King -- one launched in Spring 2002 and the second a year later following a record-smashing two-year run in Los Angeles. Each tour continues to sell out 7-10 markets a year, pulling in an average box office of $1.1 million each week. To date, more than 6 million people have seen the touring productions.

David Schrader, Disney Theatricals' Managing Director, said, "In the past year, we've sold out six-week engagements in Buffalo, Baltimore, Costa Mesa, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Portland, Rochester, Sacramento, Seattle, Spokane and Tempe. Jack's enthusiasm, strategic thinking and connection to the audiences is a big part of how we consistently sell to the rafters in 2000-seat theatres week after week."

Schrader continued, "As we look ahead at the opportunities to continue our success with The Lion King across the country and building for the future, there's no one better at this than Jack Eldon. He understands the business model and represents us well. I'm thrilled that Jack will be taking on this new challenge."
