"Burlesque Mayor of New York City" Jonny Porkpie, after a year of hosting The Kickoff at Monday Night Burlesque, is moving to the Main Event with his first-ever solo-produced monthly show, which will continue every second Monday of the month at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The series launches Monday, August 10 @ 10:00pm with JONNY PORKPIE'S BAD IDEAS.

Porkpie explained the title: "The word 'bad' has a number of definitions in this modern world. Sure, there's the classic meaning of 'not good', but it can also be used in the 'I'm a bad boy, spank me' sense. Or in the 80s manner popularized by Michael Jackson in his album of the same name. In the case of this show, however, the meaning is definitively 'not good.'"

But with a lineup of brilliant, award-winning burlesque and variety performers like Broadway Brassy, Clams Casino, Jo Boobs, and Sapphire Jones, the question must be asked: how can a show like that possibly be 'not good'?

"Oh, the SHOW will be fantastic," clarified Porkpie, "It's just the IDEAS that are bad."

Porkpie went on to explain the structure of the night; In the first half of the show, the performers will present one of the many burlesque or variety numbers that won them their well-deserved acclaim. In the second half, however, Porkpie has challenged those same performers to bring to life one of the most idiotic notions they have ever voiced in his presence.

"The first half will be a glorious showcase of the wonders of the modern burlesque, filled with beautiful women performing the brilliant acts which best exemplify their skill, humor, and sexiness," said Porkpie. "The second act will be a fantastic freakin' trainwreck. In what way? I don't know. I doubt if the performers themselves know. There's only one way to find out: come see the show."

How do the performers feel about this? "They're thrilled to be given free reign," say Porkpie, "A chance to perform without restriction. Who knows? Some of the numbers debuting in the second half of this show may well go on to their regular rotation. More likely, however, the delightfully stupid acts will never be seen again."

JONNY PORKPIE'S BAD IDEAS launches Porkpie's ongoing series at 10:00pm every second Monday of the month as part of Monday Night Burlesque at Public Assembly. Admission is $10. Jonny Porkpie's BAD IDEAS is hosted by Jonny Porkpie, and stars Broadway Brassy, Clams Casino, Jo Boobs, Sapphire Jones, with the gogo stylings of Lefty Lucy and the boylesque debut of Arrogant Mick.
