There's always been fiddle music for the square dances in the hills of Appalachia, but what happens when a fiddler's pride gets the better of him? Johnny, a brash young fiddler from the mountains must evade the law, outwit a preacher and navigate young love on his journey to prove he's the greatest fiddler that's ever been, but there's one obstacle he never imagined, the Devil himself.

Inspired by the myths of fiddlers' dealing with the Devil, the piece takes a hard look at the association between a virtuoso's egotism and hellish temptation. Written by Douglas Waterbury-Tieman with direction by John Hurley, choreography by Jennifer Jancuska, music supervision by Scott Wasserman.

Recent developments include a workshop in residence at the Troutt Theatre in collaboration with Belmont University, Rough Draft Workshop at The Drama League in collaboration with "Jennifer Jancuska + The BringAbout", and a residency at Goodspeed's Johnny Mercer Writer's Colony.

Douglas Waterbury-Tieman (Creator and Writer) recently appeared in Roundabout Theatre Company's THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM as an onstage musician and clogger. His other recent credits include; ONCE, DESPERATE MEASURES, SEAWIFE, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, LOST HIGHWAY and COTTON PATCH GOSPEL. Douglas owes whatever success he has had to the love and support of his wife Annabelle and his family. www.douglaswaterburytieman.com
