Y, MA(Marketwired - Apr 9, 2013) - J. Todd Enterprises, Inc. President Phyllis Totaro has announced that effective April 1, 2013, J. Todd Galleries of Wellesley, MA has leased what is now the oldest, continuously running art gallery space on Cape Cod. J. Todd Galleries, itself having 31 years in the art gallery business, will now operate in both Wellesley, MA and in Chatham, MA in the 44 year-old space that was first run as a gallery by Cape Cod art legend, Marguerite Falconer, co-founder (in 1969) of the Cape Cod Creative Arts Center.
J. Todd Galleries, one of New England's leading regional art galleries, represents mostly living artists from across the U.S. plus some European, Canadian, South American and a few Asian artists. The flagship Wellesley gallery consists of several showrooms housing thousands of artworks and offers a full range of art services including elaborate custom framing, art restoration, art appraisal, corporate art consulting and more. The company's website, www.jtodd.com, displays over 1,200 images online. The Chatham operation will exhibit a different mix of artwork from that seen in Wellesley, geared toward the affluent coastal community and its visitors from across the nation and abroad. The Chatham gallery will be all showroom, and the firm's peripheral art services will not be offered in Chatham.
Ms. Totaro said, "This particular space has been on our radar screen for many years. We were astounded to learn that it was finally available, and we jumped at the opportunity to occupy it." The space is located in the epicenter of the Cape's most foot-traveled sidewalk. The company then went into high gear to totally renovate the tired old space using quaint, tasteful elements while giving the space an overdue head-to-toe makeover. "We'll open softly in late April," said Totaro, "and by June 1st, we'll be at full speed." Totaro believes that this is the single best space on Cape Cod for an art gallery. "Anyone who visits this beautiful town is almost certain to walk past our front window," she said, "and we'll do our best to lure them through our front door with what they'll see." The firm has joined the Chatham Chamber of Commerce and the Chatham Merchants Association, both very active in stimulating business in the picturesque coastal town, located at the elbow of Cape Cod. Some call it the Cape's third island, comparing it to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.
