'The Green Room Door', an upcoming new series on Showtime will explore the serious side of being funny as it showcases comics discussing their craft on a weekly panel format in front of an audience. The series will be hosted by Paul Provenza, and is scheduled to air in 2010.

Tony Award nominees Eddie Izzard and Robert Klein will be amongst the comedians appearing on the show, according to a report in Variety. Scheduled to appear are also Penn Jillette and Jonathan Winters.

'Green Room Door' will be produced by Barbara Romen and Provenza, who directed the theatrical comedy "The Aristocrats."

The revival received four Tony Award nominations including Best Leading Actor for Izzard.
