Monday's New York Times is reporting that Broadway's Next to Normal has joined the 25-30 percent of Broadway shows that have earned back the show's initial investment. The show marked it's one-year anniversary last night (Saturday) as it it prepares for a national tour that begins in November, producers announced that the show has earned back it's full $4 million in capitalization.
With a thrilling contemporary score, Next to Normal is an emotional powerhouse of a musical about a family trying to take care of themselves and each other. Next to Normal features music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, and direction by Michael Greif.
The musical features Tony Award-winner Alice Ripley, J. Robert Spencer, Kyle Dean Massey, Jennifer Damiano, Adam Chanler-Berat, and Louis Hobson.
Next to Normal was recently chosen as "one of the year's ten best" by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Time Out New York, New York Daily News, The Bergen Record, and NY-1.
Tickets are priced $25.00 - $115.00.
Next to Normal is performed at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th street) on the following schedule: Monday at 8pm, Tuesday at 7pm, Thursday at 8pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm & 7:30pm.
