TwinsMusic Enterprises is proud to announce the annual cultural celebration - Italian Jazz Days 2013 - October 12-22, 2013. Thanks to the involvement of Italian Cultural Institute of New York and the Italian nonprofit organization, C-Jam Music, this year the festival takes place in four New York City venues: Measure Lounge at Langham Place, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, the Jazz Standard and Smalls; plus two additional historical, jazz venues: the Deer Head Inn (Delaware Water Gap, PA) and Blues Alley (Washington DC.)
Italian Jazz Days takes place during the Columbus Day celebration, cultivating interest towards Italian culture.
The 2013 festival is dedicated to the Piemonte region of Italy, and features Giovanni Scotta, winner of the Orsara Jazz Summer Camp 2013. Also particpating is jazz veteran Emanuele Cisi. Jazz pianist and Italian Jazz Days Artistic Director Antonio Ciacca will perform at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola and Blues Alley (D.C.) Ciacca plays music from the Italian American Songbook with Joe Magnarelli, Jerry Weldon, Paul Gill, Peter Van Nostrand, Joe Mc Donogh, Dayna Stephens and Aaron Kimmel.
Music Program:
The annual Italian Jazz Days Festival offers original music and standards from the Italian-American repertoire with the music of Harry Warren (Salvatore Guaragna), Frank Rosolino and Buddy DeFranco (90 years old).
