Israeli writer, actor, and director Niv Petel is debuting his award-winning one man show "Knock Knock" at United Solo Festival at Theatre Row on Monday, November 12 at 7:30pm.

In "Knock Knock," Petel plays Ilana, a single mother in Israel and Casualty Notification Officer who support families who have lost children in wars. Her role hits a little too close to home when her son, her only child, turns 18, and he wants her permission to serve on the front line. This heartbreaking story is inspired by everyday life in Israel, and how families throughout the country struggle to deal with the ongoing conflict.

Immediately after finishing his service in the IDF as an ICT Operations Operator, Petel trained at The Performing Arts Studio in Israel. He's toured "Knock Knock" around Hong Kong, England, and Scotland, won the Edinburgh Festival Fringe's ThreeWeeks Editor's Award 2017, and was nominated for The Infallibles Theatrical Excellence Award 2017. Edinburgh Guide called "Knock Knock" an "immensely moving piece of theatre," and London Theatre Reviews said it is a "powerful experience."
