MCC Theater has announced that costume designer and TV personality Isaac Mizrahi will serve as host of its annual Gala, "Miscast 2007," to be held next Monday, March 12, 2007 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues).
"As in years past, 'Miscast 2007' will bring together an all-star lineup of the best and brightest Broadway talent as they perform songs from roles in which they would never be cast," state press materials. Attendees will be treated to cocktails, a seated dinner, live and silent auctions as well as the performance. The producers also announced there are a limited number of $50 (show-only) tickets available.
This year's event is in honor of producers Kevin McCollum and Jeffrey Seller for their commitment to producing innovative works that reach new audiences, both on and Off Broadway. The producing duo's credits include Rent, Avenue Q, De La Guarda, Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme and In the Heights, among many others. All proceeds go directly to MCC's production, play development, education and outreach programs.
The evening will include Broadway favorites Norbert Leo Butz (Tony Award winner for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Raul Esparza (John Doyle's production of Company), Ana Gasteyer ("Saturday Night Live" and Wicked), Jane Krakowski (a Tony Award winner for Nine and current star of the NBC hit series "30 Rock"), LaChanze (Tony Award winner for The Color Purple), Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) and Josh Strickland (Tarzan). Two recent additions to this group include Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me alums Brooks Ashmanskas (The Producers, Gypsy) and Nicole Parker ("Mad TV").

MCC¹s current production of Courtney Baron's A Very Common Procedure, directed by Michael Greif is now running through this Saturday (3/10) at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The third and final play of the 2006-07 MCC season is the world premiere of Neil LaBute's In a Dark Dark House, running May 16, 2007 - June 23, 2007 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
The schedule for the evening is as follows: 6:30 p.m., Cocktails and Silent Auction; 7:30 p.m. Dinner and Award Presentation, 8:45 p.m., Miscast 2007 Revue Performance.
