As reported by BroadwayWorld, Julie Taymor stated last week in a New York Post interview that she plans to have a project come to Broadway next spring or winter, but would not reveal further details.
Michael Riedel has now written in the New York Post that Taymor is in talks to direct a revival of David Henry Hwang's Tony-winning play, M. BUTTERFLY.
Hwang's drama, which opened on Broadway in 1988, is based on the true story of French diplomat who falls in love with a member of the Peking Opera, unaware that the object of his passion was a man. John Lithgow starred and B.D. Wong won a supporting actor Tony for his breakout performance.
