George S. Irving, who received a Tony nomination for creating the role of Sir John Tremayne in Me and My Girl, will reprise his role as the comical nobleman in the upcoming Musicals Tonight concert staging of the show, which will take place at the McGinn/Cazale Theater (2162 Broadway) from October 24th through November 5th.

Me and My Girl "introduced the Lambeth Walk during its original London run of 1,646 performances (beginning in 1938). A London revival in 1985 was quickly followed by the Broadway version which ran for 1,420 performances. Songs: 'Leaning on a Lamp Post,' 'Once You Lose Your Heart,' 'Family Solicitor;' 'Take It on the Chin,' and 'I Would If I Could,'" state Musicals Tonight notes.

The show, which features book by L. Arthur Rose and Douglas Furber, lyrics by Rose and Furber, and book by Noel Gay, concerns Bill Snibson, who creates havoc among the aristocracy after learning that he is the illegimate son of a recently deceased blue-blooded man.  Robert Lindsay and Maryann Plunkett won Tony Awards for their performances in the 1986 Broadway musical.

The Musicals Tonight Me and My Girl will be directed by Thomas Mills, with musical direction by James Stenborg.  It will also feature Patrick Boyd, Trista Modlovan, Annette Hunt, Christopher Guilmet, Robyne Parrish, Roger Rifkin, Lydia Gladstone, John Alban Coughlan, Jonathan Osborne, Jonathan Parks-Ramage, BJ Scahill, Patrick Maubert, Jacob R. Thompson, Liliane Klein, Renee Barnett, Michelle Liu Coughlin, and Robyn S. Clark.

A beloved Broadway character actor who won a Tony Award for his cross-dressed work in Irene, Irving has also appeared on Broadway in (among others): On Your Toes, Copperfield, The Pirates of Penzance, I Remember Mama, Once in a Lifetime, So Long 174th Street, The Happy Time, Anya, Alfie!, Tovarich, Irma La Douce, Bells Are Ringing, Me and Juliet, Can-Can, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Call Me Mister and Oklahoma!, in which he made his Broadway debut.
