Way Off Broadway Musical Theatre Inc. (WOB) presents the World Premiere of In Full: Bloom, an evening of songs celebrating composer and lyricist Charles Bloom, one of musical theatre's most significant new voices, at The Bridge View Center in Ottumwa, Iowa, from January 15 - 25, 2009.

In Full: Bloom deals with three relationships at different stages as examined through the prism and prison of show business.  The show is a collaborative expression by Mr. Bloom, WOB's artistic director Randy West, WOB's musical director Justin Hill, and a national and regionally based cast. The musically diverse score includes solos, duets, trios, group numbers, medleys, as well as an overture.  Music and lyrics by Charles Bloom, directed by Randal K. West, with music direction by Justin Hill.  Featuring Margaret Clair, Brad Little, and Barbara McCulloh.

Charles Bloom is originally from Los Angeles and was born to the late screenwriter Harold Jack Bloom and the late actress Carolyn Kearney.  He studied Music Composition and Psychology at NYU.  The long list of artists to perform/record songs from his catalogue includes: Michael Feinstein, Christine Ebersole, B.D. Wong, Cheyenne Jackson, Andrea Marcovicci, Alix Korey, Bruce Vilanch, Barbara Walsh, Vicki Lewis, Aaron Lazar, Matt Castle, Julie Reyburn and Richard Todd Adams.  For the theatre he has written the book, music and lyrics to Pablo, Insomnia, Heaven Knows, and the scores to Character Breakdown (book by Douglas MacEwan) and Frank and Phyllis, A 12-Minute, Mini Musical (book by Damian Madden).  Pablo received a concert reading by the West Coast Musical Theatre Alliance at LATC.  I Prefer to Dream, a revue of some of his work, (directed by Andrew Glant-Linden), was presented at The Triad Theatre, NYC.

Charles has contributed special material to countless cabaret acts and many charitable causes in the US and abroad.  His songs comprised an edition of the Australian musical theatre radio show, BROADWAY AT BEDTIME hosted by Will Conyers.  In the summer of 2009, Mr. Conyers is slated to do a series of concerts of his work in Melbourne titled A Way with Words: Will Conyers sings the Music & Lyrics of Charles Bloom

Way Off Broadway Musical Theatre Company is Iowa's only professional musical theatre company. Part of the company's artistic vision is to support the creation of New Musicals.  Last year, Way Off Broadway produced four musicals that were either world premieres or were work-shopping in the creative process toward going on to other very high focus theatres.  This year the company will produce four musicals including three world premieres and one musical that is work-shopping.

The first of the world premieres will be the original revue In Full: Bloom.

In Full:  Bloom will run from January 15 - 25, 2009 at The Bridge View Center, 102 Church Street, Ottumwa, Iowa.  Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm.  Tickets are $25-$38 and available at www.ticketmaster.com and by phone at 515-243-1888. For more information, visit www.charlesbloomusic.com or www.woBroadway.com.
