After a busy 2013 year selling out shows worldwide of the artwork of international pop artist Nelson De La Nuez, Bruce Lurie, owner of Lurie Gallery, is excited for a great start to 2014. His booths #1020-1121 South Hall at the LA Art Show, January 15-19, 2014, will feature a good mix of De La Nuez paintings, mostly all hand painted mixed media on canvas and a few of his very popular resin on wood pieces.
"It's absolutely incredible the buzz De La Nuez's art creates everywhere we go. Everyone wants it no matter what country or city our shows may be in ... it's relatable. People connect with it and it creates conversation," explains Lurie about the artist's strong allure to his audience. "The Hamptons ate him up. De La Nuez's brightly colored resin Chanel pieces on wood will sell out soon at this rate so people are flocking to be first to buy any we may have at our shows," he says, satisfied.
The LA Art Show is the West Coast's most comprehensive art experience, showcasing the highest caliber galleries, with 3 distinct sections: Modern & Contemporary, Historic & Traditional Contemporary, and the IFPDA Los Angeles Fine Print Fair. Lurie Gallery shows De La Nuez's work on a permanent basis at his Beverly Hills gallery, which includes a mix of his pop culture Americana and his irreverent humor art, such as his controversial "Twisted Little Children's Book Series," including the artist's bestselling "High Times." De La Nuez owns the Museum of Humor Art, which houses his second, edgy irreverent style of art that is sarcastic, satirical and hilarious. The artist confirms that he has collectors for both styles but usually the gallery shows feature his large pop style originals. The galleries have been selling out his work every show.
De La Nuez has many high end, branded licensing and partnership deals already sold online and at stores such as Neiman Marcus and Lord and Taylor, and says he has several new product launches upcoming, but he cannot reveal them yet.
While the King of Pop Art's work will be selling on the West coast, at the same time, he will also be represented on the East coast at the Miami International Art Fair January 17-20 aboard the Sea Fair mega yacht, a prestigious gallery show. The following weekend is another chance for luxury seekers to find his work if it hasn't already sold out at Art Palm Beach January 23rd-27th with Evan Lurie Gallery. The artist can barely keep up with the demand for hand painted pieces between all of his galleries, but is happy to have that problem.
