Indie-rock band Sky-Pony will perform Saturday, May 5, at Brooklyn's Rock Shop in a theatrical Cinco de Mayo show.

Sky-Pony is inspired in equal parts by indie-rock and good old-fashioned American Songbook balladry. They serve up their music with a healthy dose of theatrics: incorporating costumes, choreography, and storytelling into their high-energy live shows.

Sky-Pony is a new band that combines the talents of singer/actress Lauren Worsham and her husband Kyle Jarrow (Obie Award winning playwright, also of the bands Super Mirage and The Fabulous Entourage) -- plus a collective of talented guest performers including guitarist Kevin Wunderlich, drummer Perry Silver, bassist Eric Day, backup singers Jessi Suzuki and Megan Stern, cellist David Blasher, and more.

On Cinco de Mayo, they'll be taking the stage at The Rock Shop (249 Fourth Avenue Brooklyn, 361 Metropolitan Ave, Park Slope, Brooklyn) on Saturday May 5 along with the bands Prowler and Nico's Gun. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Available online through http://www.therockshopny.com. Sky-Pony will play at 9 pm.
