Indie folk singers Sarah Murdoch and Jeremy Aaron join forces for a one night concert at Park Avenue's favorite Irish pub, Desmond's Tavern.
Sarah Murdoch's voice has been described as "hypnotic, addictive, and the perfect balance between charm and grit" (AXS August 2016). A popular performer at several East Village mainstays, including a recent appearance at the famed Antifolk festival, she combines powerful blues vocals with modern folk influences resulting in uniquely haunting ballads that "continue to establish her as a formidable voice on the downtown music scene. "
On Saturday April 8th, Ms. Murdoch will bring her celebrated vocal stylings to one of New York's most distinguished Irish Pubs, Desmond's Tavern. The fourth oldest continuous operating bar in Manhattan, Desmond's is mostly known for its authentic neighborhood identity, however, over the years, it's also been a preferred locale for artists and celebrities. Paul McCartney and Kevin Costner have been spotted at the bar, plus Lady Gaga was a frequent performer when first starting out. And screen legend, Veronica Lake was a waitress there in the '40s!
The evening will also feature a performance from Jeremy Aaron, a singer, poet and bluesman, whose music "evokes nights around the campfire between old friends." Creator of the Greenwich Village Showcase, Mr. Aaron recently released his debut solo album, "In The Magic Light." In her review, Christine Lavin noted, "His songs are intelligent, the arrangements subtly inventive, stylistically spanning genres - folk/jazz/theater - demanding and holding your attention at every turn."
And as if that wasn't enough, the evening will also include Elysse Yulo on guitar, Terry Greene II on drums, and Rob Fernandez on bass.
