Inaugural Creative Arts Festival Comes to Mars, PA, Today

CARNEGIE, Pa., Aug. 5, 2014 Beading, Embroidery, Jewelry, Wearable Art, Basketry, Calligraphy, Paper Marbling, Painting, Soap Making, Quilting, Print Making, Woodwork, Metalwork, Surface Design, Metal Embossing, and more! No matter what type of creative art you are interested in, you can learn more about it or purchase it at the Inaugural Creative Arts Festival.Slated for this weekend, August 22-23, 2014 at the Four Points Sheraton, North, in Mars, PA, this event is a "don't miss" opportunity for anyone interested in crafting and creative art.

The fun begins Friday evening, the 22 nd, with an Opening Reception and Sneak Preview from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Admission price includes hors d'oeuvres, free lecture with Daniel Nie, demos,raffles and prizes, free art activities, a sneak preview of the Marketplace and other great activities! Tickets can be purchased in advance online at pghcreativearts.com for $30.00 or $35 at door.On Saturday August 23 rd from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm there will be a full slate of classes, workshops, lectures, interactive demos, artisans, and a marketplace featuring a vast variety of creative arts. Admission for Saturday is only $12 in advance. Discounts are available not only for purchasing in advance, but for purchasing a package including both Friday and Saturday admission. Barbara Grossman, founder of the Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival, has teamed up with her sister Ann Szilagyi on this new endeavor and is excited to announce that, as with her previous events, donations for the Annual Salvation Army's Fabric Fair will be accepted during the First Annual Creative Arts Festival. The Salvation Army's Fabric Fair, organized by The Greater Pittsburgh Salvation Army's Women's Auxiliary, is an annual event held each spring to benefit those in need throughout the Pittsburgh area. Barb Grossman and her husband Randy Grossman, have both been long time supporters of The Salvation Army in Western Pennsylvania.
