In The Wings Productions to Present Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, 7/15-24

In The Wings Productions, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tanya Glassman and Executive Producer Adam Glassman, presents Disney's Beauty and the Beast at the historic Snug Harbor Music Hall from July 15-24. Tickets are $20-$30.

In anticipation of Disney's Beauty and the Beast In The Wings Productions will host Story Time with Belle on July 9 from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Dress in your favorite Princess attire for this Free event to be held at the Snug Harbor Fountain. The day's activities include stories read by Belle (played by Staten Islander and recent Wagner College Theatre graduate, Maria Elena Rumayor), pictures with Belle, Belle hair styling, along with coloring and refreshments.

In The Wings Productions will also host A Beauty and the Beast Character Breakfast and Show Package on Sunday, July 17 at 12Noon (2pm matinee) and and July 23 at 10:00am (12Noon matinee). Enjoy a delicious breakfast with Belle and your favorite Enchanted Objects followed by a matinee performance of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Tickets for children are $15 (plus show ticket) and $25 adults (plus show ticket).


A romantic musical for all generations, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the smash hit Broadway musical, is based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, with additional songs with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Tim Rice. The book is written by Linda Woolverton.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is directed by Joey Lento, with choreography by Tanya Glassman and music direction by Mike Pinto.

The cast of Staten Islanders features Maria Elena Rumayor (Belle), Anthony Massa (The Beast), Tony Verilli (Maurice), Craig Kwasnicki (Gaston), James McKeon (Lumiere), John Patrick (Cogsworth), Jenny Kelly (Mrs. Potts), VJ Scarpaci (Chip), Emily Bodkin (Madame La Grande Bouche), Melanie Randall (Babette), Gary Bradley (D'Argue), and Ryan Cobb as Lefou.

The ensemble includes Valerie Aro, Nancy Bates, Amanda Rose Benjamin, Dylan Bivings, Anthony Casiano, Bailey Claffey, Alyssa Cobb, Ally Crocitto, Vanessa D'Angelo, Kristin Dalto, Sophie Decker, Allison DeLuca, Fiona Gannon, Giada Garaffa, Deirdre Hansalik, Cian Kneeshaw,Audrey Lawson, Serafina Matarazzo, Kayla McBrattney, Noa Miranda, Victoria Navarino, Danielle Oliveria, Alexis Paolino, Michael Peruggia, Juliana Pitera, Carly Racioppi, Sebastian Rametta, Gwendolyn Williams, and Darrah Whalen.

One of Broadway's longest-running musicals, Beauty and the Beast has won the hearts of more than 35 million people worldwide. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters and dazzling production numbers including "Be Our Guest" and the beloved title song.

The production is designed by Andre Boulay (sets), Scaramouche (costumes), Tiffany Rau (lights), and Adam Chatfield (sound). Macey Best is production stage manager.

The original Broadway production opened at the Palace Theatre August 25, 1980, with a cast that starred Susan Egan, Terrence Mann, Tom Bosley, Beth Fowler, and Burke Moses. The production ran 5.461 performances. Disney's Beauty and the Beast has become an international sensation that has played to over 35 million people worldwide in 13 countries.


Performances of Disney's Beauty and the Beast are Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 12pm and 7pm, and Sunday at 2pm. Single tickets from $20-$30.
