'In The Heights' to Perform and Sign CD's at Barnes & Noble 9/16

 On Tuesday, September 16th Barnes & Noble Lincoln Square store will host performances and a CD signing by the cast of 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights.  The performance will begin at 4:30 PM follwed by the CD signing. Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Square is located at 1972 Broadway at 66th Street.

In The Heights won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Original Musical.

In The Heights began previews on Thursday, February 14, 2008, and opened Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). The musical stars Andréa Burns, Janet Dacal, Robin De Jesús, Carlos Gomez, Mandy Gonzalez, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Karen Olivo and Seth Stewart will be on hand for the CD signing.  The original cast recording of In The Heights is released on Ghostlight Records.

With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, In The Heights is directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler.  Alex Lacamoire is music director and music arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman. 

On Broadway, In The Heights features a scenic design by Anna Louizos, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley and sound by Acme Sound Partners.

In The Heights "is a quintessential New York musical about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. The music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an  identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition," state press notes.

The show played a successful Off-Broadway run at 37 Arts on Sunday, July 15, 2007, having played 33 preview and 182 regular performances.
